A butcher's knife

First of all, many thanks for Svord Team for producing this item, it is awesome. And thanks to KnifeCenter for selling it. I love this knife. As i see in comments below, people find this knife to be impractical and useless. If you think so, just give it away to a local butcher. He will mark this knife 10 out of 10. I also can buy it from you. Because you can't find a better knife (it just does not exist!) to stick a large animal. For example, a cow or a bull. Even for pig-sticking a normal 7-inch knife could be a bit short. An animal, in any case, will not die quickly after sticking with a cheap 7-inch sticker. However this is a perfect sticker, as it creates a large and very deep wound.

A Solid beast

Good knife, different sheath than pictured (more brass rivets down the edges) but better in my opinion anyways. A rugged finish and won’t win any beauty contests, but that’s not what knives are for right? Steel came with a nice bluing and hefty cross guard, this is a workhorse that can straddle knife/hatchet/cleaver duties. Had it for over a year now, holds an edge well and has a strong tip.

You Like Big And Indestructable...Buy This Knife

Not many reviews on this one, not like the Von Tempsky, but don't let that stop you. Pics don't do justice but this knife is VERY large with very high grade carbon steel. 1/4" thick and came very sharp out of the box. Instructions show how to easily make it sharper. Fit was top notch. Finish, on purpose, is "rustic". The color case hardening was a nice touch and almost unique to Svord. Best word to describe came from my wife, "medieval ". Enough weight and length to make an effective chopper, but the blade shape lends itself to almost effortless slicing. I'm not going to abuse like YouTube vids on Von Tempsky, but I have no doubt it could take it. Sheath is more durable than pics show too. Very heavy leather, fine stitches, and very secure fit. Only negative for me is handle shape. A ball or "bone " shape at end would be useful during chopping. Either that or a triangular shape overlapping the tang. I'll be sure to use supplied lanyard as you really don't want to loose control of this sharp hunk of steel. Not a huge issue but I might re-handle in future. Knife Center was by far least expensive retailer I found (and I looked everywhere) and very fast standard shipping was a plus. This one definitely going camping soon. You won't be disappointed with you purchase of this knife.

A Review of the Ned Kelly Toothpick

I found it very useful for yardwork such as cutting vines and small brush. In the fall I look forward to testing it out on dressing game. It is a little bit heavy, which makes it perfect for mid to heavy cutting jobs. Plus it is a little bit smaller than a machete, so it's more convenient. Some might call this a short sword, and it would probably work as a defensive knife. It is extremely well built and keeps its edge well. Before buying I would have wanted to know more about what kind of oil to use on it and proper storage. I had to do a bit of research as my other knives are mostly stainless steel, and this is Swedish carbon steel. So it does require a bit more care and maintenance.

monsterous

I just received this item super fast shipping good job knife center. This knife is very very large. The picture and description are accurate but you don't really get a sense of size until you hold it. The knife is sharp but could be better with a light touch up. The hand forged appearance is attractive without being primitive and crude. If your looking for a very sturdy knife for camp and hunting with a show stopping presence this is it.
