Great Knife
I use this knife daily at work in a warehouse. I like blade length in my knives. Nice weight to it in whole, pocket carried for a year. Take care of it, rust is a factor but it wipes off easily. Edge retention is easy if you are experienced with wet stones. Over all the best cheap knife I've ever owned! I am a collector of knives, benchmade you name it. This is a great buy no joke!

I collect (mostly) inexpensive folders that I buy for their usefulness and comfortable ergonomics. I had heard that S&W knives were just no good----not actually made by Smith and Wesson, yadda, yadda, yadda. I bought the SW609 on a whim and was surprised to find how good it actually is. No, it's not a Benchmade or a Spyderco, but unless you're a knife snob, this is a pretty dang good knife. It was sharp out of the box, has decent blade steel (8Cr13MoV), and feels great in the hand. It also had a perfectly centered blade, opens super easily with the flipper or thumb studs, and the frame lock is solid. I compare it favorably to my Kershaw 3860 Oblivion in every way, except that it is not spring assisted. The pocket clip is exceptional: the knife slips easily into the pocket and virtually disappears except for the clip itself. My only semi-negative comment is that it's a bit on the heavy side. It is one of my favorite EDCs. This is a good knife, folks, especially for the price!

I use this for general carry and farm use. I have bad hands and the index opener is a real life saver plus the flip method works exceedingly well. Over all a very impressive knife, not too heavy, not too light fits the hand very well,(I have very large hands). Excellent knife and excellent price.

one of S&W's good ones
The knife itself is great, minimal logos and writing on the blade, beautiful stonewash finish and a nice thin tan G10 handle scale with a nice S&W logo engraved on the center. And the all steel handles arent overly thick so it doesnt feel too heavy while still being a durable knife. Although the one i recieved had a very bad blade centering problem (the kind where the blade scrapes against the liner). Ive tried all the fixes online but none seem to work. And the tip of the pocket clip sticks out a bit too much for my taste. But overall, great knife.
