The SW609 tactical frame lock folder is an affordable knife with great utility and rock solid construction. The 3.6" black stonewashed blade is forged from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel and is deployed via the index flipper or the dual thumb studs. The stainless steel handles feature a tan G10 inlay that is textured in a way to enhance the user's grip. The lanyard hole provides another carrying option along with the stainless steel tip-down pocket clip.

Better than expected
I collect (mostly) inexpensive folders that I buy for their usefulness and comfortable ergonomics. I had heard that S&W knives were just no good----not actually made by Smith and Wesson, yadda, yadda, yadda. I bought the SW609 on a whim and was surprised to find how good it actually is. No, it's not a Benchmade or a Spyderco, but unless you're a knife snob, this is a pretty dang good knife. It was sharp out of the box, has decent blade steel (8Cr13MoV), and feels great in the hand. It also had a perfectly centered blade, opens super easily with the flipper or thumb studs, and the frame lock is solid. I compare it favorably to my Kershaw 3860 Oblivion in every way, except that it is not spring assisted. The pocket clip is exceptional: the knife slips easily into the pocket and virtually disappears except for the clip itself. My only semi-negative comment is that it's a bit on the heavy side. It is one of my favorite EDCs. This is a good knife, folks, especially for the price!

Great Knife
I use this knife daily at work in a warehouse. I like blade length in my knives. Nice weight to it in whole, pocket carried for a year. Take care of it, rust is a factor but it wipes off easily. Edge retention is easy if you are experienced with wet stones. Over all the best cheap knife I've ever owned! I am a collector of knives, benchmade you name it. This is a great buy no joke!
