Very cool little baton

I bought this product to carry for self defense. I haven't used it in a self defense situation but I can tell it would work well if I ever had to use it. Nice heavy weight to it. Very loud satisfying click when deployed. Just wish this model came with a foam grip. Definitely happy with my purchase. Knife center has great service and I received my product in about 4 days which is pretty good considering i live on the west coast and they're located in Virginia.

I LIKE IT

It's small and easy to carry and when open it's like having a pipe in your hand. If you can't discourage someone from attacking you then you aren't trying. Oh, AND DON'T OIL THE BATON. Too much oil prevents it from locking open firmly. I had to disassemble it and wipe off the oil and now it functions as it should. Who would've thought you can over-oil something?

Great product and can't beat the price

Much higher quality than many other batons I've seen. Small enough to remain discreet while still being intimidating. Shipping was quick and easy, all together the whole process was as smooth as can be. Another happy customer.

Non-lethal Self Protection

The Smith & Wesson 16" heat treated collapsible baton ( S&W baton) lives up to the stellar reputation of S&W revolvers. The baton is quick to open and simple to close. However, it does take a substantial impact to do so. My wife who is by no means overly strong can operate the baton with no problem. The baton is a great backup or non-lethal defense tool. I have several rifles and pistols in various calibers and types and I am a very good shot. I have a CCW license. Given that, I wanted something I could use effectively and possibly avoid permanent injury. The baton, after considerable research of alternate possibilities and products, fit my needs. I recommend that anyone that plans on using a baton for self defense take some stick fighting training. The S&W baton is well made, heavy enough to be effective but light and small enough to fit in a pocket. The only con is the holster. It would do nicely on a duty belt but is a little large to wear with civilian cloths. However the holster is well built. At the risk of being redundant, I recommend this product to anyone with the above needs.

MUCH BETTER THAN THE ASP A-40

Own the Asp (Agent) 40 series. The S&W is far superior in every way. Opening the S&W is smoother with no hesitation. Grip is secure and just the right amount of tack to securely hold the baton with minimal effort. The ASP costs 100 bucks more and is really junk compared to this S&W.

Worth every Penny

This Baton is very solid, well made and works flawlessly. It is worth every penny and outshines other subpar manufacture's of Baton's. I am extremely happy with my purchase.

super quality, value

Works great, looks like they're made by Taylor out of TN for Smith and Wesson, so they're USA made if I am not mistaken. Grip is great, good weight, not too heavy or too light. Sturdy, a great value.

As good at 1/3 the price

I like to walk for my health at night. I have a ccw permit but want some less lethal options. I carry pepper spray clipped to my pocket, my handgun in a holster on my hip and my baton in my left hand. It is small and light enough to carry without a sheath and I figure if I need it, I'll need it NOW! It is long enough to have decent reach but short enough to prevent it from being easily taken away. The only complaint I could have is the extremely minor one of the reverse end of the handle is plastic instead of metal for breaking something like a car window. I feel that all but the more determinded attacker will think twice about messing with some old fart when he hears the baton 'snick' open. That plus the pepper spray should save me a fortune on ammo.

ROUNDS OUT MY ONBOARD DEFENSIVE GEAR LOAD OUT

i like to do a lot of night work. I get warmed up by watching one of the Bronson "Death Wish" vids. I pack my XDS .40 with 3-12 round mags with 60grain Liberty rounds, and integrated laser sight. I carry a 5" Wasp Injection Knife, my old army bayonet, plastic ties, Kevlar vest, and a 5 round Judge with 410 slugs. And of course my 16 inch S&W baton for 1:3 close-up face and scrot demolition. The solid satisfyin "klick" and sounds of yielding cartilage and bone immediately following my first power stroke backhand, and then the same sound on the forehand, demoralizes the attackers inspite of their determination to flee. I knew the first time I blooded my S&W baton, that this would be my fave, first line of attack.

Very Pleased

I bought Baton for my wife who needed some form of protection from occasional coyotes that roam in the area where she walk. This has turned out better than expected. It is very easy for here carry while working and it dispatches easy enough for her to feel a lot safer than having to look for a stick of a stone as in the past.

Can Do Some Serious Harm!

A bit on the heavy side, but the weight will do some serious bodily injury. Reasonable price is a plus. I bought two of them. Can be difficult to collapse. Just need to bang it harder against a hard surface.

Good bang for the buck...

User/officer friendly with great feel and usability on the job. Quick deployment and nice heft. Comes with a decent holster. The handle grip fills the hand comfortably & perhaps bit better IMO than a standard ASP. Good product at an affordable price point. A little butt heavy. Have yet to really need it thankfully, however should the need arise it certainly will do the job.
