Great knife

Loved this knife as soon as I got it in my hand. For a one knife option this thing is great. Fit and finish is perfect. I carry many different knives but if I need one to do everything this is my pick. It's a little heavy for it's size, that is the only negative thing I can say about it.

Beast of a Knife

No complaints. Been wanting this thing for a long time now. Out of the box, this knife was razor sharp. Started feather sticking with it and it just bites through wood and would do battoning tasks with ease. Form, fit and finish was excellent. Great size and thickness for a survival/ bushcrafting knife and at a 1/4", you will never break this beast unless you purposely do so. Highly recommended if you're planning to buy a mid-sized fixed blade that's gonna last a lifetime. Worth every dollar spent.

Tom Brown Survival Tool

Great survival tool! I say tool because it has many different functions that are commonly used in survival situations. This is a one tool option that i substitue for a small hatchet and a 4 in drop point knife. The only downside is the sheath...it does have a rattle to it when the knife is placed in it. This can be solved by heating the kydex up and pushing it down some, which eliminates all rattle and wiggle and keeps the knife very secure.

Everything I expected and more...

I honestly bought it because of all the bad publicity the knife has. I even told my Eskrima teacher about it and he called me a Mall Ninja... that was until I let him see it. He too fell in love with it. It's a heavy knife and takes impact very well. Construction is awesome. It's an excellent tool. I've used it to cut bamboo, notch wet wood, split kindle and dig a fire pit. I added a lanyard to the end just for some extra leverage. I love this thing. I intend to keep it for a long time. Serial P-14145. This will be the first of my TOPS knives.

Interesting survival tool

This is one of the most critized knives around for the moment, I believe. And I believe the knives purpose is misunderstood. This is an excellent tool as a one-knife option in survival. I mean this knife does it all, but it doesn't excell in any area. I wouldn't bring it to a chopping contest. But as a one-tool option it's super. You can chop, cut, scrape, cleave, knotch, baton, use as ulu-knife, draw-knife, skinning and it's a tank of a knife and will take abuse. It's perfect in the hand if you hold it correctly as a knife not as a hammer. If one expects it to be as good as a big axe a machete a chainsaw and a whittling-knife one is up for a disappointment. It's a multitool and it excells in being a multitool. I read in a knife forum someone saying it was a jack of all trades and a master of none. I would say it's a master of being a jack of all trades and that's what you need a one-knife survival tool to be. Well done mr Brown and Tops!!

Excellent Field Tool

I find the tracker to be an excellent all around field tool (and American made). Like others have said, it's great for a wide variety of uses (slicing, chopping, digging, etc.). It has a good weight, strong blade and balanced for the task. I would say I'm not fond of the sheath, only because you can't securely lock the knife into it. The high carbon blade sharpens easily, but with this type of metal you are prone to rust. So maintenance and proper storage is required (it's not Asian made 440ss). That said, I could see this knife out living me with proper care. Tom Brown did an excellent job creating this knife and I'm proud to carry it.

Great knife, great price.

I was pretty impressed with this knife right out of the box. Felt good and balanced. I like heavy knives. If you don't, go with a different bade that is thinner. Bonus: made in the USA.

very poor for the money

too heavy, too thick for the purpose, 3/16" is enough, absolutely not sharpened, I'll have to change the blade geometry, the sheath is the poorest ever seen for the knife price.
