Versatility in a small package

There's really no downside to this little knife- it is such a handy tool and so compact you will barely feel it in your pocket. But it it sure ready to rock when you need it! I'm a big fan of Swiss Army knives and this little champ is at the top of my list! Own one and you will never leave home without it.

If it had a mini comb, it would be better again, 'Cuticle pusher' is useful for (careful) ear cleaning !

This Knife is EXACTLY What I Wanted

I use my Swiss Army Minichamp Multi-Tool for just about everything. I can write with it when I don't have a pen, I can open soda bottles (or beer bottles), cut anything, screw in or out any reasonably sized screw, remove splinters, open packages, you name it, this tool will take care of it. It goes in my pocket everyday, my business suit, my swim suit, my jeans, my lounging pants, golf shorts, everything I wear, every day, 24/7/365. I lost it once for a day and thought I would need to be hospitalized for depression. It is absolutely a part of me every day.

If I could only have one SAK, this would be it.

I've owned a lot of SAKs. I wear them out. I don't always replace them with the same model though. This one, however, I've purchased every time I break or wear out an old one. First of all, it punches way above its weight in tools. It has two knife blades, which is great, but it also has a ton of other great stuff including a bottle opener, a tiny ruler, a cuticle pusher, even a tool for opening packages. I used to always have a Compact on me. Now, since I usually have something like a PM2 on me, I just carry this. Sometimes, I only have this, not even a Griptilian. Short of serious force, this will do it all. The only modification I made to mine is I replaced the scales so I can have a toothpick and tweezers. The pen is trash IMHO and a wasted opportunity. That said, it wont' bother you and you can always replace it with a short trip to Etsy and voiding the warranty.

Mostly used to trim mustache and cut loose threads. The small phillips is great for opening the battery compartments on kids' toys! Saves a lot of crying...and sanity. As for the cuticle pusher - no clue how to use this!

Mini Champ

Ordered it to replace my 5 year old one. There is not one day that I don´t find a use for it, whether to open a beer bottle, tighten a screw or file my fingernails it is the "multipurpose tool" that you will carry unobtrusively in your pocket everyday. Just don´t take it thru TSA since someone is sure to make you leave it behind (I´m sure they want it for themselves, that is how I lost my old one).

Perfect key ring fob

I’ve had this Minichamp on my key ring for fifteen years I think. I carry a larger tactical type folder with a clip in a pocket, but find I use the Minichamp more often for everyday needs. The orange peeler blade is perfect for opening those annoying blister packed products. If I ever lose it I will buy another the same day (but don’t plan to lose it!)

Scales are weak link of an otherwise great tool

The scales on multiple Victorinox knives I own are not durable and have broken. If a set of keys with a MiniChamp on it are dropped the odds are high the scales will break. If a SwissChamp is dropped the odds the scales will break/detach are likewise high. I have owned Victorinox for decades and still can't understand why Victorinox won't produce more durable scales. We live in an age where polymers routinely withstand use in firearms, automobiles, and aircraft. Victorinox, please bring your scales up the quality of the rest of your knife components.
