Scales are weak link of an otherwise great tool
The scales on multiple Victorinox knives I own are not durable and have broken. If a set of keys with a MiniChamp on it are dropped the odds are high the scales will break. If a SwissChamp is dropped the odds the scales will break/detach are likewise high. I have owned Victorinox for decades and still can't understand why Victorinox won't produce more durable scales. We live in an age where polymers routinely withstand use in firearms, automobiles, and aircraft. Victorinox, please bring your scales up the quality of the rest of your knife components.

If I could only have one SAK, this would be it.
I've owned a lot of SAKs. I wear them out. I don't always replace them with the same model though. This one, however, I've purchased every time I break or wear out an old one. First of all, it punches way above its weight in tools. It has two knife blades, which is great, but it also has a ton of other great stuff including a bottle opener, a tiny ruler, a cuticle pusher, even a tool for opening packages. I used to always have a Compact on me. Now, since I usually have something like a PM2 on me, I just carry this. Sometimes, I only have this, not even a Griptilian. Short of serious force, this will do it all. The only modification I made to mine is I replaced the scales so I can have a toothpick and tweezers. The pen is trash IMHO and a wasted opportunity. That said, it wont' bother you and you can always replace it with a short trip to Etsy and voiding the warranty.
