Cool Little Knife

This is my eighth small knife and one of my favorites. Feels larger than it is when opened. Easy to grip. Well made. Fun to show off. I like it.

MIGHTY MOUSE

Do you like small knifes or need one in your arsenal ? Look no further if you want the cream of the crop. The 0022 is by far the best of the best ! You will only appreciate the fit and finish, top notch premium materials and ergonomic comfort by handling this beauty in the flesh. The photos as good as they are just don't do justice. I love smaller knifes and owning a 450, I was already familular with the quality of ZT. So when the 0022 was introduced, I knew this would make a nice companion. This knife seems to be in and out of stock on a constant basis which tells me it must be in demand. Had to wait 2-3 days for stock to arrive and ship, but all I can say is it was worth it. This puppy checks all the boxes. Premium materials throughout. Perfect fit/ finishing / blade centering. Aesthetically this is one fine looking knife. The designer put much thought into using CF/ Ti /and that jaw dropping anodized Lt. Blue pivot ring and back spacer. Like I said...you need to grip this baby to really enjoy how such a small knife can have the heft and comfort you come to expect from ZT larger models. What I really like is that for a small knife, this thing looks and works more like a tactical knife. It lives up to the ZT "overbuilt" tag line. No regrets adding this to my collection. Forget the plain simple vanilla small gentleman styles. This is the one you want if having a robust hard working solid built EDC mini is what you require. 5+ stars !!

Awesome knife for areas with restrictions!

I work in the Pentagon, and they have a 2.5" blade length limit. This has obviously knocked most of my favorite knives off the list of things I can bring with me. I decided to pick this up to have a knife from my favorite brand that I could bring with me. This 0022 has all of the things I love from ZT. Great materials, good tolerances, a rugged, but lightweight design, and great ergonomics. With the two finger grooves, it locks into the hand very well, despite only fitting three fingers on it. Some other small knives seem like miniaturized large knives, but this knife was obviously designed from the ground up to be comfortable and usable even at its reduced size. The blade is very pointy, and has a good belly too, so it is very useful despite being so small. It instantly became a hit with the Marines I work with, and there might be some more of these selling soon. The only weak point, and still a bit of a stretch, is that the lock is harder to disengage than my other ZTs. Of course, part of this is that my other ZT Framelocks disengage very smoothly, and this one is so short that it takes a little more force. Overall, this is instantly my favorite small knife that can be taken anywhere without an outright blade ban.

Keeper!!

When this knife was first released it got some negativity from the average ZT enthusiast because of its small size ..I got it anyway soon as it went on sale .. I became attached to it day one and have been attached to it everyday since .I’m happy when I see people give it the positive reviews now!!

BEST EDC IN HISTORY

Hands down the best EDC knife ever made. I own just about every knife you can think of and this knife is my favorite. Its small but it fits your hand perfectly and is razor sharp right out of the box. The quality of this knife is also top notch. The clip is solid and very secure and the handle material screams Porsche 911 GT2RS. You will not be disappointed at all with this purchase.

Perfect in Every Way

The ZT0022 has now become my favorite EDC knife. The quality, the materials used, and the superior engineering of construction in such a small package is amazing. Though the blade is small, it is incredibly sharp and all belly. This knife’s small size is no indication of its capabilities. Its small size allows it to be worn at all times, in any piece of clothing, so it is always on hand for use. Fits perfectly in the small watch pocket in a pair of Levi’s. Well worth the price. Some of my larger EDC knives are going to start collecting dust. As mentioned in the review, a deep pocket clip might have been better, but I have no complaints with the one it has.

outstanding knife

This ZT 0022 is amazing, I received it today and am very happy with this little knife. The Carbon fiber design is fantastic, The blue pivot disc is great in color and appearance. The CPM-20CV blade steel is phenomenal. The flipper action is outstanding as well, took a couple times to master it but it is great as well. Super sharp out of the box. Very pleased overall, and shipping was quick.

Fantastic little knife that takes some getting used to

The good The knife is made of premium materials and is very well built. It's physically small, but it's in a completely different league as many of my other micro knives. The 20CV steel is fantastic. It's razer sharp and holds an edge well. I haven't needed to sharpen it yet. I know 20CV can be tough, but I'm assuming most people who buy this knife know this about 20CV already. ZT did not skimp out on any details. The back is titanium and they still put a hardened steel edge on the lock tab to prevent wear in the locking mechanism. The action is incredibly smooth and the lockup is rock solid. The bad While the action is incredibly smooth, the detent is extremely tough. It takes a LOT of force to get this knife open, especially with the tip of your index finger. Because it is so small it is tough to find a solid position to really get the most pressure on the flipper tab. I'm assuming this will loosen up over time, though that steel is pretty tough so I'm not sure how much more it will give. I guess I can consider this a pro since this thing feels like it'll still have a solid lockup long after I'm gone. On a related note, the only other issue I have is that I found in order to get in the right position to get it open, the base of my thumb starts to wrap around the bottom of the handle. if I'm not careful, when it opens, the blade point will catch the palm of my hand near my thumb. If I back my hand away, I lose a lot of grip and it's that much harder to get the flip action open. I have had flippers where the detents were too soft and that makes it that much more difficult to build up enough pressure in your finger to get the blade fully open, so there are advantages and disadvantages. When the blade is open, despite it's small size, the shape and ergonomics are spot on for my ML hands. I don't have any issue keeping a strong grip, and the blade shape up top along with the jimping allow me to get plenty of power behind the blade. I would also suggest a deep carry pocket clip. Given how short it is, I want to keep as much of it inside the pocket as possible.

Unusable for lefties...

Beautiful knife. Small, ergonomic, light. It should, however, contain a literal notation that this knife is useless to left-handed individuals. The design is such that holding it left-handed leaves your grip forcing the locking bar against the blade, making it impossible to open. Beyond that, I found the flipper very stiff. Perhaps it loosens over time? I returned it.
