Pros: Blade Sharpness, Handle Material, Overall Quality, Pocket Clip, Ease of Opening, Handle Feel, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material
Cons: Lock Type, None
My new EDC after owning many high end knives.
How could I give it a poor rating? It's not perfect because inherent design of frame lock. Amazing materials and construction/craftsmanship. Great size and blade shape. Perfect blade thickness for medium and light duty. Great look without being over the top. Only negative I can say is if opening left handed, your thumb will probably put too much pressure on the frame lock for it to flip open all the way by itself. Unless you are consciously avoiding this. Sometimes it does it right handed too but much less often since your middle finger only slightly rests on the lock. Some people say they have issues with bearing washers but I haven't so far carrying daily in Afghanistan for 4 months. However I do maintain it by spraying water and blowing air in the pivot every now and then if some fruit juice gets in there by accident. Followed with a drop or two of knife oil. The frame lock works well- I haven't tested it strongly but it feels strong and I haven't had any slip or lockup. The tension feels perfect- definitely strong enough to stay closed but moves with the expected amount of effort. The blade has not even a hair of play because of the bearing washers. My benchmades are tight but if you feel very closely there is a tiny amount you can barely feel or else the pivot will be too tight. The bearing washers of the ZT fix that.
