well worth the wait
This knife itself is visually a clasic 1860s style blade, don't listen to the people who write its a poorly finished blade, I bought mine recently, the blade came very sharp, I then sharpened it further using Japanese water stones, if you cannot sharpen a knife, you have no business owning one, its not rcoket science, learn it. This is my bushcraft blade, my deer and hog blade, my survival blade, my shelter building blade when alone in the forests alone. I carry two this blade and a Mora. The leather on mine is waterproofed and has been through the harshest wettest environment, in rain, sleet and snow. The balance is right, has the right weight behind it and the knife will double in the protection mode ( if you really need to ). The fit and finish of the blade, leather was actually very good. expensive ? hmmmm maybe......but anyone outside of the USA will pay almost double now due to the falling currencys. still worth the cost though..... !

Purist's Bowie
I find it a very good knife it's made from 4034 steel (420C) and very well made. 420C is a good quality steel not to be confused with 420A or 420B. It is possibly the most aesthetically pleasing Bowie I own it is certainly a purist's knife, full tang, very attractive walnut handles and a stunning leather sheath. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a good purist strong Bowie.

Boker Bowie Standard 7 3/4"
All my Boker products have been well worth the money. In regards to the poor rating the other fellow gave:The type of steel is always mentioned in the description. We all work hard for our money. (Well most of us anyway...I know no other way)I suggest not letting all the internet experts shame you into not using such a great looking knife!Chop some wood, whittle a whistle, make a feather stick, skin a moose, kill some Zombies, and then give us your honest opinion of the knife!
