Boker Bowie Fixed Blade Knife 7.8" N690 Satin Blade, Oak Wood Handles, Black Leather Sheath - 121547
Description
BO121547: Boker Bowie Oak
Boker Knives
The design of the traditional Boker Bowie was based on original drafts from the early 19th century and equipped with an extremely stable, 0.25" thick blade made from nitrogen-alloyed Bohler N690 steel. The name of the knife goes back to James "Jim" Bowie, the famous pioneer and soldier who is revered as a hero of the Wild West. Contrary to the widely copied Sheffield Bowie, the variations of this outdoor knife resemble the early American Bowie, with its s-shaped stainless steel crossguard sporting a finely satinized surface. Comes with a high quality Western leather sheath in black, designed based on the original.
Bohler N690 Steel
The cobalt-alloyed N690 by Bohler (not to be confused with the lower-grade N695) is a very reliable upper middle-grade steel Boker uses at their Solingen factory for a wide variety of projects. The fine-grained N690, which ranks above 440C, offers convincing performance data in all areas. It is often sold as N690Co – the "Co" stands for cobalt and describes the exact same steel.
