What is the ATLAS lock on the Cold Steel Engage?
The ATLAS lock is a patent-pending locking mechanism that uses a forked lock bar to engage over two separate stop pins. This design provides exceptionally stable lockup and strength, positioning the Engage series as a reliable choice for heavier use.
How do you operate the Cold Steel Engage?
You can deploy the blade using the dual thumb studs or by pulling the lock slider back and flicking the knife open with your wrist. To close the knife, pull the slider toward the spine of the handle and use a wrist flick to fold the blade back into the handle.
Is the Cold Steel Engage finger safe?
Yes, the Engage series is designed to be finger safe because your fingers never cross the path of the blade when disengaging the lock. By pulling the lock bar back from the sides of the handle, you can safely close the knife without putting your hand at risk.
What materials are used in the Engage series?
The Engage series offers various configurations including budget-friendly 4116 steel with GFN handles and premium models featuring S35VN steel with G10 or carbon fiber. Blade options across the series include both clip point and tanto shapes in multiple lengths.
Why was the series renamed from the Drifter?
