The Shark-Cub is a compact evolution of the AD20.5, specifically designed to offer a more pocketable footprint without sacrificing the strength of the Shark Lock. It features refined ergonomics and a deep-carry clip, making it a highly efficient choice for daily carry.
How big is the Demko Shark-Cub?
The Shark-Cub features a 2.75-inch blade, making it smaller than the AD20.5 and the original AD20. Despite its compact size, the handle is designed to provide a secure grip, accommodating about a three and a half finger hold for larger hands while maintaining excellent control.
What blade shapes does the Shark-Cub series offer?
This series includes three distinct blade styles: the Sharksfoot (a sheepsfoot-style blade), a modified Clip Point, and the Slicer Shark (a drop point or spear point hybrid). Each shape is optimized for the 2.75-inch length, with the Slicer Shark offering a thinner geometry for improved cutting efficiency.
What materials are used for the blade and handles?
Most premium Shark-Cub models use CPM-20CV stainless steel for high edge retention, though budget-friendly variants are available in AUS-10A. Handle options include matte-textured aluminum, G10 in multiple colors, and lightweight Grivory.
How does the Shark Lock function?
The Shark Lock is a spine-mounted mechanism engaged by pulling a textured ramp back toward the rear of the knife. This design allows you to swing the blade open or closed easily while keeping your fingers completely out of the blade's path.
Is the Demko Shark-Cub ambidextrous?
Yes, the Shark-Cub is fully ambidextrous due to its lock design and hardware. The Shark Lock is accessible from either side of the frame, and the knife comes with a reversible deep-carry pocket clip for right or left-hand carry.
