WE Knife Riff-Raff FAQ

The WE Knife Riff-Raff is a production realization of Matthew Christensen’s custom Misfit design, featuring a robust build and a broad clip point blade tailored for performance.

What blade steel does the WE Riff-Raff use?
Base models of the WE Riff-Raff use CPM-20CV stainless steel, while premium variants feature Heimskringla Damasteel. CPM-20CV is preferred for its high edge retention and corrosion resistance, whereas the Damasteel option offers aesthetics similar to CPM-154 performance with a striking pattern.
How is the WE Riff-Raff deployed?
The Riff-Raff uses a ball-bearing pivot system for smooth, fast opening. It is designed to be opened using the blade hole, which supports both a traditional thumb flick and a middle-finger reverse flick.
What handle materials are available for this series?
Every model in the WE Riff-Raff series features titanium handle scales. Options include solid colors like blue, gray, or bronze, as well as a specialized black and bronze finish that provides a worn, patinaed look with bronze coloration showing through on the edges.
How does the WE Riff-Raff handle ergonomic use?
The handle provides a secure grip that accommodates most hands comfortably, though those with very large hands may find it closer to a three-and-a-half finger grip. A pronounced thumb ramp sits behind a full-length swedge, providing extra leverage and control when applying force during cutting tasks.
What is the blade shape and geometry?
The WE Riff-Raff features a broad clip point blade with a long, straight spine and a high flat grind. This geometry makes it an excellent slicer while maintaining enough tip strength for detailed work.
