The ArtisanCutlery Ravine is mid-size flipper with a big bite and a lot of style. It has a large, bulky, 2.91" sheepsfoot blade made from durable stonewash finished D2 tool steel and boasts a large amount of cutting power. The handles are made from lightweight milled G10 and are shaped to lock the knife into your hands. Everything about this knife is designed to give extra cutting power without losing precision. The handles drop near the blade and allow your thumb to rest firmly between the handle and the blade and the blade features a large finger choil which allows you to choke up on the blade for more control while performing small cutting tasks. With an immense amount of cutting power, and a unique, stylish design, the Ravine from ArtisanCutlery is one awesome knife.

G10 Handles
Formed in a sheet under high pressure by combining fiberglass and an epoxy resin binder. These handles are lightweight and shaped to ensure a solid grip.
D2 Tool Steel
This semi-stainless tool steel offers great value, thanks to a high degree of edge retention that can often rival more expensive steels.
Like many Chinese-made blades, this folder has a thick blade with a flat grind. Initial sharpness is good but I foresee as the blade is sharpened, the area behind the edge will get thicker. It will need to thinned then. In comparison, my Spyderco Yojimbo 2 also has a thick blade at the spine but is hollow ground and hence thin behind the edge. Also, the Ravine’s blade is much heavier than the handle and the balance of this knife is forward.
