Bear and Son Cutlery

The Bear Tac III is a solid fixed blade knife with a tactical design sure to please. The knife measures in at 10" overall making it perfect for a lot of tasks without being unwieldy. The clip point blade is made from tactical black finished D2 tool steel giving it excellent edge retention and strength. The handle has black G10 handle scales that give a weather resistant grip in any situation. The knife comes with a ballistic sheath with a Kydex insert that give easy access and extra protection.

Can't recommend
I enjoy the look, design and price of this small Bowie, but the finish quality leaves a lot to be desired. I'm not sure if I got a repaired knife that was sold as new, or if their quality and QA is normally this bad, but I can't recommend this knife. This is my only Bear Op.s. knife, so maybe this is an outlier, but I won't be buying more to find out. The guard, scales and butt cap all have a strange oxidized haze on them. The jimpping in the handle is very poorly aligned between the scales and tang ( double machined maybe). And the sharpened edge of the blade has splatter of black finish along its length; which is what makes me think I might have gotten a repaired knife... Overall nice design but poor quality and execution.

Nice Knifr
Fit and finish are excellent. USA made is very nice. Would have given a solid 5 stars but the sheath needs attention. Ballistic nylon and Velcro are so easily worn out. Kydex or good leather would be much better.
