Description

BCMC700TIS: MC-700-TI-S Rancor VII Flipper

Bear & Son Cutlery

An upgrade in quality from the previous iterations, the Rancor VII is a more elegant take on the series. Slightly smaller than its compatriots, it fits unobtrusively into a pocket, while still being comfortable to hold and use. The taper-ground blade is made from CPM-S35VN stainless steel which sports a good combination of corrosion resistance, edge retention, and hardness. It deploys easily thanks to the integrated flipper tab and locks up firmly with a sturdy frame lock. The handle comes in two material choices; either black stonewashed titanium or attractive carbon fiber. Both of these materials look and feel great to use.

Highest quality materials and years of experience in knife making combine to make Bear & Son knives comfortable in hand, a beauty to behold and still tough enough to go the distance. Their ongoing commitment is to make the best knives possible, make them in America and make them affordable. Bear & Son wants everybody to be able to afford what they are proud to make!

Almost Perfect
I have carried this knife daily for the past 5 years. I absolutely love everything about it ----- once you get it properly tuned. Out of the box, the bearings are gritty and too tight, the centering is off, and it feels scratchy. If you disassemble it and oil/ grease the bearings, it is absolutely flawless. Aftermarket bearings are available for ~$10, and they really make the knife sing. I have already purchased a backup for myself if in case I do ever lose this. I have plenty of other knives (some of them much higher end) for different occasions, but I literally take this with me 360/365 days in a year.

The Perfect EDC
I’ve carried this knife daily for about six months now. The bearings have smoothed out beautifully. Edge retention is phenomenal, offering excellent cutting power in a small package. S35VN may not be the newest and trendiest knife steel, but it’s a great steel and it works very, very well. It carries deep in the pocket, out of the way until you need it, and feels great in hand once you do. Worth every penny.

Nice Knife but never a 314.00
This knife is ok but not at the high msrp. My biggest complaint is the pocket clip machined into the scale for lefty’s could have been done better I think. Good blade steel very sharp and pretty nice finish on the blade.
