Coming on the heels of the Picoeur and PiKa backup neck knives, the Spade is the most useful utility design of the bunch thus far. However, it's still a knife built and designed for CQC self-defense and it definitely excels at that. The grip has been redesigned to contour to the natural shape of the hand better and now includes a thumb ramp in addition to the jimping for better control. The Kydex sheath promotes a clean, effective reverse grip draw every time, and its drop point blade will actually do a lot of utility tasks that you ask of your regular EDC blade. In the right hands - ie trained ones - the Spade is an ultra-effective and deadly tool and even in novice ones, quite a handful for an unsuspecting attacker.
