RCIZULAOD: IZULA-OD Izula
ESEE Knives

Since 1997 Randall's Adventure & Training has designed no-nonsense, affordable field knives specifically targeted to military, law enforcement, and the special operations community. Many of their knives now serve in combat zones around the globe. The knives have a "no questions asked" lifetime warranty. ESEE Knives is also setting the standard for many local, state and federal law enforcement officers when it comes to high performance, compact sheath knives with multiple carry options. The NTOA scored the 3-inch fixed blade a 4.77 out of a possible 5. In addition to knives, ESEE also offers survival, land navigation, tracking and other training courses along with free survival information.

The locals in Peru call the meanest, nastiest ant of the jungle by the name "Isula" and we know it as the Bullet Ant. The Bullet Ant is known to be independent, tough, light on its feet, and a real aggressive survivor. The Izula knife is built the same way and designed to be the perfect lightweight survival tool or concealed carry knife. These knives are made from high carbon 1095 steel. And while 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for - especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH.

1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for its extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel (it will rust) and most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.
Steel Handles
Steel Handles
Stainless Steel knife handles provide strength and durability and look and feel great.

Cons: None
It’s Small But.....
Don’t kid yourself, it’s a small knife. This said it’s very well built. I’ve used my Izula just as hard as my Ontario RD6. No issues with either. Izula is a little too small for a primary outdoors knife in my opinion. Can it perform? Absolutely! Are there better choices for a primary outdoors blade yes only because of the size of the Izula. Izula can be used in any application you would use a “full-size” quality knife in. It’s just a little constricted by it’s small size. This said, it’s small size makes it perfect for pocket EDC. It’s also a excellent neck knife. I wear mine around my neck with a Firesteel when kayaking. Should I lose my gear and primary knife the Izula will absolutely get me by in a pinch. If you need a small hard use knife get the Izula. Very nice, very high quality.

Cons: Sheath/Scabbard
Almost perfect, but
The sheath is better than you get with most knives, but for the price it could be better. The sheath on the ESEE 4 is much nicer. I wish they used the kydex they use on the 4 and junglas on this too.

It cuts
Great knife I for the price, it allows you to customize your I handle with paracord or other materials and shaves out of the box. This thing is a small EDC sharpened pry bar. You can abuse it and it still comes back for more!
