BTKBG21B1: BG21B-1 Texel Flipper Knife, Translucent G10

Bestech Knives

Another solid entry into Bestech's line of D2 flippers, the Texel is a collaboration knife between Bestech and A Purvis Blades. The two-tone finished D2 tool steel blade has a sweeping sheepsfoot design with a large amount of belly and a smooth profile. The blade deploys quickly and smoothly thanks to the ceramic ball bearings in the pivot assembly that Bestech has perfected. The handle scales are made from durable G10 that has a lightly textured finish that gives a solid grip. A large finger groove and smooth bevels add to the already great ergonomics of this knife. A stainless steel pocket clip and extended spacer with lanyard hole top off the features.

My Go To EDC
This is the ultimate economy EDC flipper. It's very well made with foolproof operation and generally a very pretty knife. I'm finding the Sheepfoot shape most useful for EDC and everyday cutting tasks. There are many great EDC knives in this class but none carry them off as well as the Texel. Bestech is finally giving us knives that perform well but also great looking. Handle feel is awesome. It also cannot be wrist flicked open but still operates so smoothly. In fact it's fun to just open and close.

Great knife, for the price.
I really like this knife. Seems to be a really well thought out knife. Materials are about as good as it gets, for this price. Blade is flat grind, which I consider a step up from hollow. I think they got the sheepsfoot shape just right. Grip fits my hand nicely. The liner is skeletonized, which makes the knife both light and better balanced. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the liner lock. When the blade if fully open, seems like the liner lock is barely catching the very edge of the blade. There is also a stop pin, so maybe this isn't a big deal, but I'd feel better if the liner lock lined up with the blade better. The ball bearing pivot isn't as friction free as the one in my CIVIVI.
