This EZ-Hone Sharpening Kit includes Silicon Carbide (coarse), Soft Arkansas (medium), Hard Arkansas (fine), True Hard Arkansas (extra fine), and a 1-ounce bottle of honing oil. Silicon Carbide stones can cut fast, and also produce a fine edge on tools and knives. The Soft Arkansas is a coarse stone. Coarse stones are the foundation stones of any sharpening kit. Using a coarse stone is the fastest way to get a good shape on an edge. The Hard Arkansas stones are finer stones that are used to refine the edge, improving the quality of the cut it delivers. The Case honing oil is designed for use with sharpening stones while sharpening. Only a very little dab is needed when sharpening so the oil will last you a while. This sharpening kit comes conveniently packaged in a box.
