Description

CN1802275HC: Kickback Knife

Condor Tool & Knife

The Condor Tool & Knife Kickback Knife is made from 1075 high carbon steel and is heat treated and annealed to about 50-55 Rockwell hardness. The edge is hand finished and polished to razor sharpness. The blade features epoxy black powder coating which is a heavy black paint finish done by powder coating. The paracord wrapped handle is made with real 500 lb test parachute cord that has seven inner strands for further use in a situation where one piece of rope might not be enough. One of the strands inside can also be teased apart further, providing fishing line, sewing thread or help in any situation where a fine, sturdy line is needed. The included Kydex sheath with breakaway ball chain necklace is handcrafted with quality and pride and is impervious to the elements.

$30 knife, $30 quality
I think the folks at Condor thought they could make a sub 3 inch bushcrafting knife because this has a (relatively) thick blade and a stout cross section. The problem is that it is garbage at cutting, even after fixing the lackluster factory sharpness, and it's too small to do anything other than everyday cutting. I ended up grinding mine to a full flat grind and it is much better that way! Overall a cool cheap fixed blade if you are willing to put a bit of work into it.

Nice pocket fixed blade
Fit and finish is non existent out of the box. The grind is so bad that the tip looked severely bent. The edge geometry was weirdly round like two crescents meeting to an edge. The edge was non existent. I don't think i could have cut myself, and if so just barely. The blade would not cut paper, i tried. The sheath is MUCH nicer than the competitors. It's a taco style kydex, tight, zero rattle, perfect for edc. The blade steel is good high carbon. Comes with a paracord necklace that can be made into a belt dangler that drops into the pocket. With a few minutes work, you have a shaving sharp edge, and a swedge that can strike ferro. Which is super cool since you don't have to strip the blade. All in all an excellent lil edc with quality materials, if you don't mind a lil elbow grease.
