Condor Tool & Knife

Named after a mythical Valkyrie, the Sigrun Knife is a tactical masterpiece. With a nod to the Seax style of swords, this tactical tool has a welded smashing pommel and fuller to help with weight distribution and blade control. The Sigrun Knife also has an ambidextrous sheath that is a Kydex leather hybrid. The 5mm thick 1075 Carbon steel blade tops off at 5.5", making the overall length a little over 10". Just as usable in the woods as the battleground, the Sigrun Knife will rescue you from any danger.

About the Designer

Joe Flowers is responsible for many of the interesting blade designs throughout the Condor product line. Joe writes for a myriad of magazines and publications, and contributes regularly to the outdoor community, concentrating on woodcraft and primitive living. His knowledge of outdoor gear led to consulting on equipment design and function for many companies. Joe holds a degree in Zoology with a minor in Entomology and researches heavily into all things outdoors. Joe Flowers teaches fitness, martial arts, organizes youth camps, and hosts outdoor skills and survival classes around the US. Joe is an avid naturalist, hunter, fisherman, herpetologist, videographer, beekeeper, knife thrower, guide, and regularly travels internationally in search of knife knowledge and unique animals. You can find Condor on Joe's side when he is deep in the Amazonian rain forest, or high in the deserts of Utah.

Don't overlook this blade as some VikingsmMerchandise spinoff.......
The first thing I'll admit is that Condor creates some themed knives that border on goofy. This isn't one of those. This blade style was forged in Scandanavia during the age of Norse raiding but this knife isn't trying to capitalize on that. It is a solid blade design which has enough heft to do rough work but also has a serious drop point for fine detail, especially boring. The handle fits the hand incredibly well and it feels (not recommended) like you could drive nails with the pommel. It has an odd combination of Kydex and leather sheathing though. It seems as though they started on a Kydex sheath and switched to leather half way through. The is a lateral leather band which snaps shut but doesn't accommodate a horizontal carry. Other than looks and additional weight, not really sure why it's there. Serves as a great hunting knife as you can easily quarter and cape with the same blade. Sheath improvements would have earned this a 5 rating.
