Very poorly designed
The haft is very small in diameter and uncomfortable unless an extremely thick wrapping is applied to it, and also obviously weaker than the thicker shafts found on other tomahawks. The designer must have very small hands.The head geometry is very thick and obtuse, meaning there's lots of dead weight that diminishes cutting performance and offers no benefit. Some people like this type of design because they envision it lending splitting power to the axe, but this is a delusion, because an axe this size will never be a good splitting tool and it will always be vastly more efficient to use improvised wedges. The light weight, balance, speed, and cutting power of a tomahawk should never be compromised by adding thick cheeks in a misguided attempt to make the thing good for splitting, this a serious mistake that ruins the performance both as a weapon and as a tool. A tomahawk should have a very lightweight head with thin, knife-like blade geometry that will cut both wood and flesh very deeply and easily.The factory edge was terrible, just like all Condor Products. It's basically like the edge on a splitting maul. You will have to grab a fresh file and take the afternoon off to get a usable edge geometry on this tomahawk. I don't think anyone at Condor has ever cut or chopped anything in their lives, all of their products are shipped with the worst factory edges I've ever seen, yet they advertise "hand honed edges" as a selling point. You couldn't even chop green pine with this thing out of the box.The only positive thing I can say about this tomahawk is that the hang was acceptably straight, which is an issue with axes in general. Other than that it is a very poorly designed and overpriced piece of junk. There are vastly superior wood handled tomahawks out there for only 1/3 the price.
