Great Value Parang
This Machete does everything you want it to and more you would expect out of a chopper. Though if you read some of the 4 star reviews on this site you will not get an accurate review. Complaints about weight and blade thickness are kind of absurd when you are talking about a Parang. This is not a machete for trimming your grass. It is a Chopper! It can split fire wood, trim limbs off trees, flip your logs on the fire, break some teeth in a self defense situation, you name it. But don't expect it to cut your lawn... You buy a Tramantina, Imacasa, Hansa or equivalent Longer, thinner "Latin" style machete that doesn't have a convex grind for that kind of application. I've been using this Machete for the last year for different things around the land. Its not my only machete, It doesn't do everything I want it to, I have different Machetes for different jobs. But if I was lost in the wilderness, or lost all other cutting tools, I would definitely not complain that I had this one. You could give it a different grind closer to your hand and have a fine cutting tool for shaving and basically be set for life. The handle feels great to me. I have tried a few different machetes and this hand feels awesome. I have a little large hands, not huge but bigger and the length on this is ideal. I love the end how they curve around to keep my hand from slipping forward or off the back end. The material of the handle seem pretty tough, haven't even gotten many dings in it. Has a lanyard hole with brass rivet, solid, I tie some bright orange paracord through there in case I set this baby down in the brush and lose it, it helps to see, since it is green and black, if I am working into dusk it can get lost easy in a pile of brush. I plan to get some reflective cord soon so my flashlight can catch it easier.Overall I think this is a solid ass machete for a good price, good steel, tough as nails... The sheath is alright, It probably will need to be replaced... in 10 years honestly :) So not a big deal. It has a small pocket, which is great to keep a small ferro rod or quick sharpening kit.My one fuss is... Is it a full tang? I can't find the info on that anywhere. so in the case that the handle did break (although I bet condor would replace it in this current societal situation) You'd have to get pretty crafty to fix you a new handle on it... This is my SHTF thinking, Lost in the Wilderun, not at home in the backyard complain to Amazon kind of situation ;)Hope this is helpful.
