The latest addition to the Cold Steel Katana Machete series, the Tactical Katana is closely modeled after the hugely popular and record breaking Warrior Series Katana.

With its deeply curved blade, it offers more "sword-like" cutting performance, and with its broad full tang, solid steel tsuba and injection over-molded high impact polymer handle its incredible durable.

We spared no expense to re-create the look of a traditional cord wrapped handle, fushi and kashira but using modern materials that will not shrink, warp, tarnish or rot and require very little maintenance to retain peak performance.

Fully sharpened in Cold Steel's Ventura HQ, the Tactical Katana Machete comes complete with a Cor-Ex back sheath for ease of carry and storage.

Wow!

The polypropylene handle is not the best feeling but I will wrap it in paracord or hockey tape. Blade is classic South African machete with a Japanese feel. Now I have an almost-katana for a lot less! Good purchase!

Cool machete but uncomfortable handle

Really like the machete was not very sharp and the handle is super uncomfortable but hey it looks cool lol.

Another Bang For The Buck Sword From Cold Steel!

About a week ago, I received my 18" Tactical Wakizashi sword for about $40 excluding ship/handling. Just yesterday (5/15/24), I got my 24" Tactical Katana sword for about $50. Initially, I was hesitate to get it because I though it would be too long, but now that I have it in my hands, it's just perfect! It came lightly covered in grease to prevent rust, which I rubbed off. After inspecting it, there were no imperfections. The thin blade (.125 ") is sharp, straight, and very clean. It's a little on the light side given its length but not extreme. I'm able to flex it when I have one hand on the handle and the other at the end of the blade. But that would be expected. I viewed a Cold Steel video on the sword which showed it flexing while being used so it's not a problem with me.The hand guard is firmly in place, doesn't rattle. I know that some have an issue with the handle material, but I'm fine with it. It's a hard rubber material with noticeable contours for grip. If anything, I find the handle a little too long. The nylon fabric sheath is very simple and well made with a sling. My reasons for purchasing the Tactical Katana sword was for practice, self-defense, and of course, the expected zombie apocalypse ... LOL. In conclusion, I highly recommend the Cold Steel Tactical Katana sword. It's the best 'bang for the buck' that I've purchased so far from Knife Center. Good job Cold Steel!
