CN80137HC: Kimen Knife

Condor Tool & Knife

The Kimen Knife takes its name from the "Mapudungun" language which means "Teach-Learn." This tool was created by its designer with the purpose of introducing children to the knowledge of bushcraft and survival skills. Its design is very safe, with a rounded tip and a handle design that prevents the hand from moving forward. It can also be used by adults, as a complementary knife.

I bought this for the GF to use in the kitchen. I'm trying to instill a stronger appreciation for a cutting tool. This came when the GF wanted to throw away the kitchen knives because they were dull and starting to rust. She was genuinely surprised when I took a rust eraser and then put it onto the Sharpmaker Precision and stropped. This knife is intended to take that to the next level, don't put this in the dish rack or throw it into the utensil drawer. Use it, clean it, dry it, put some Camilia oil on it and put it back into it's sheath. From there, we will move to outdoor use...it is "her knife" the one tool, not the blister pack box store, use it and throw it away. $10 or $$800...the principles are the same.As for the knife, comfortable grip for smaller hands, nice guard, scalloped for pinch grips and designed to teach those grips. Brass pins, nice wood handles, looks like g10 liners, nice blade coating (1095), great scandi, shorter blade to help with sharpening. Well made and a very good price point. This knife has many more lessons to teach. Looking forward to it.
