Rockstead DON T-ZDP Japanese Fixed 5.56" ZDP-189/VG10 Clad Mirror Finish Tanto Blade, Ebony Wood Handle with Silver Koi Menukis
Description
RSDONTZDP: DON T-ZDP
Rockstead
The original DON-ZDP was one of the flagship fixed blades by Rockstead. The DON T-ZDP is the tanto model which differs in two main ways. First being, of course, the blade shape which is a "Tanto-Honzukuri" or a "Tanto-convex" blade shape. As you may know, they are making the "Tanto" blade shape with the CHI model but this blade shape is "Tanto-Shinogizukuri". That means straight grind. There are only a few knife makers who make this kind of blade shape but, we have never seen a "Tanto-Honzukuri" with mirror polished surface. The second difference is the handle design. This handle motif is a traditional Japanese Tanto-sword (Wakizashi) profile. Handle materials are ebony wood with 440C guard and end cap, silver plate inlays, and decorated KOI menukis made by silver casting. Each knife is individually numbered and includes a certificate of authenticity. Includes wooden storage box.
With proper maintenance, Rocksteads are known to keep a sharp edge for 2-3 years. Rockstead Knives do come with free sharpening and regrinding. You would be responsible for shipping charges to and from Japan.
