When custom knifemaker Princeton Wong's wine-enthusiast friend asked if he could design a pocket knife with a corkscrew, Princeton — never one to back down from a technical problem-solving challenge — couldn't say no. The result was the Fion custom, a mechanically elegant folding knife that concealed a corkscrew and boot lever within its handle. It was Princeton's first entry into Blade Show and it earned him the Best New Maker award. Now, the spirit of the Fion has been reborn in the Fial, which carries over all of its innovations and functionality. Marvel at how the boot lever almost invisibly aligns with contours of the handle, and easily slice through charcuterie with the generous drop-point blade. Equipped with a hidden folding corkscrew, this flipper knife is a barkeep's new best friend.

Nice idea, but a failed execution.This won’t open a bottle of wine. The lever is not properly notched to catch the rim of the bottle and slips off. It is a simple fix, but I did not want to grind in the proper profile myself and have the accompanying cosmetic flaw that would result. Retuned the knife.If it is ever corrected, I would try it again.
