Re-Discovered
I already had one of these from when it was first introduced in my camping kit that I recently re-discovered. Its perfect for low-key carry and summer clothing due to light weight.One hand-operation is possible after strategically placing a few pieces of skate board tape where you make contact. It also makes it a lot grippier.I purchased two more of these recently from KC and the prices was the best around. The build quality is the same as the original production. One build complaint is that many replacement blades once installed will wobble and feel loose. Gerber should include a washer/shim kit to rectify; as finding these on your own means going out on a 'search' at many home/hardware stores.Short Answer: Buy it.It has a few flaws, it should already come with or have grip tape on it, all blades should lock-in properly. From what I've seen this is the BEST under $25 product of its kind.

i try lots of knives, but for edc i always come back to this
my most frequent day-to-day cutting tasks are opening boxes and cutting posters/banners. i suck at sharpening knives, and sometimes i need really clean, straight cuts. having a small edc utility knife is great for that because as soon as the blade begins to dull, you can replace it with a new one. i typically cut on a big table against the side of a big thick steel ruler--this will mess up an edge immediately.appearance-wise, this is a lot classier than carrying a box cutter. if you're concerned about how well it conceals, you can stick some cash in it and carry it as a money clip in front pocket--and nobody would think twice about it.another couple things i like about it--there's more cutting edge exposed than with most utility knives. my number one thing i like about this knife--there's no blade play, so it's easier to get clean, straight cuts.things i would have wanted to know before owning--there's no blade-play because it the blade is held in place with a little set screw. changing the blade is requires a small screwdriver and some time. if you lose the tiny screw, you're, well, screwed. if i were mr. gerber, i'd include a few extras in the box. the other thing i'd say--it's small and it's minimal and there's a lot of exposed blade, which is great, but the trade-off is that there's not a lot of room to grip. when you hold this thing, you don't get a feeling of "oh yea this is safe." i've heard the EAB 2 has a slightly different feel in the hand.it's cheap and functional. i've owned two and given a couple out as gifts.

Liner lock is way to tight!
After reading all of the reviews and seeing how this knife looks I was so excited. However, when I received it today I could barely close the knife, because the liner lock is crazy stong! I don’t know if I just got a bad one, or if I just need to break it in a lot, but I’ve never felt a liner lock this strong. The liner lock is literally digging into my thumb as I close it. Not too happy about that.
