CR6070: Pedro Buzetti 6070 Padawan Folding Knife - Brown

Columbia River (CRKT)

Introducing: the Padawan.

Why name it the Padawan? As an apprentice to renowned knifemaker Flavio Ikoma—known to some as the “Master”—Buzetti's role as “padawan” was the perfect inspiration to debut his first design. Pedro Buzetti's first knife design with CRKT, this capable folding knife was crafted for form and function, with a drop point blade made from 14C28N steel, and a handsome micarta overlay on the handle for improved grip. The frame lock was modified to keep the blade secure, and the clip lets the knife sit low in the pocket. The Padawan is available in two versions.

More than the sum of it’s parts
This guy punches WAY above its class. Each design element has been meticulously included to create a vision of a high end knife, but made with all budget options.

Pros: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness, Handle Feel, Handle Material, Lock Ease of Use, Lock Type, Pocket Clip, Weight
Cons: Ease of Opening, Overall Quality
Very nice knife with fatal flaw.
Purchased this after seeing an on line review. Thought it might be a good replacement for the well-worn Elementum that I carry most of the time. Nope.Came razor sharp out of the box, with a well centered blade, and once opened exhibited no blade play at all. However, I simply cannot open it with the flipper. The detent is quite firm, and the flipper is dangerous. The jimping on the flipper is almost as sharp as the blade (it cut my finger badly) and the geometry of the flipper is such that insufficient leverage is available to easily overcome the detent. Of the 50+ knives I have accumulated over the years this the worst flipper. Based on my previous experience with CRKT knives (I own six different models) I expected better. It’s an attractive knife, feels good in the hand, has a very nice blade, is a perfect size for my needs, but if it takes two hands and a band-aid to open, what’s the point? If the flipper works for you, it's a great little knife. For me, not so much.Seriously considering a return
