The CRKT Foresight™ folding knife designed by Ken Onion draws on the tried and true formula of "form follows function". Its formidable profile looks like a chiseled physique just waiting to pounce on your next cutting task with all of the control and efficiencies you would expect in a high-quality folding knife. The cold-forged aluminum handle of the Foresight™ is purposefully styled and shaped with swept finger grooves and proper palm swell to provide a confident, comfortable grip no matter the use at hand.
Ken designed the 3.5-inch modified drop-point blade with a generous belly and re-curve cutting edge to maximize tool utility. And, the IKBS ball bearing pivot system coupled with Interframe style mechanism, make opening and closing the blade as smooth as silk. Precision ground of AUS 8 stainless steel and coated with Black Ti Nitride finish... this Ken Onion knife looks cool and is plenty sharp. Available in both Plain Edge and Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated Edge models.
Bottom line, some say hindsight is 20/20, but perhaps a smarter way to think is that having the Foresight™ shows you plan ahead when it comes to having the right tools.
About the Knife Designer
Ken Onion - "Though I have been a devout knife collector since childhood, collecting mostly production knives and anything else I could find, I was unaware of the custom knife industry until 1989 when I saw an issue of Knives Illustrated at a local drug store. From there I found a local knife maker named Stan Fujisaka and begged him to teach me. I made my first knife in November 1991 and have continued the craft since.á While recovering from back surgery in 1996, I decided to try to design a folder that was easier to manipulate than what was available, and not a switchblade. The result was the first assisted opening knife I called "Speed Safe" After finding some information on the whole patent process and consultation from an attorney, I got my first patent, creating a whole new category of knives between manual and auto."

Columbia River CRKT K220KKP Ken Onion Foresight Flipper 3.5" AUS 8 Plain Black Blade, Aluminum Handles
18 yr FF/EMT here. Good solid knife. Sharp out of the box. Flips and closes just fine . It is BIG. The quick flick video doesn't do it justice. Would be better as a pack knife . Also it sits deep in the pocket and it's hard to get a grip on it to get it out. Clip design def needs to be rethought. Overall I'm not dissatisfied but buyer beware it's NOT an EDC pocketknife
Columbia River CRKT K220KKP Ken Onion Foresight Flipper 3.5" AUS 8 Plain Black Blade, Aluminum Handles
This really is a well made knife as nearly everything designed by Ken Onion is. It feels great in the hand, and the lock is rock solid with zero blade movement in the deployed position. The AUS 8 steel is one of my favorite, because it holds well but can be easily sharpened with any fine grit stone. There are a few reasons I gave it four stars though. First, the thing is just too big for every day carry. With it clipped to my pocket, there is just no room for my hand or anything else. The clip itself is also disappointing. It is too short and too loose to reliably clipped to anything, and it can’t be adjusted in any way that I am aware of. Overall it is a great knife for $40-$50, and just not quite worth the price point of $90.

Pros: Weight, Handle Material
Cons: Lock Ease of Use, Pocket Clip
Big Disappointment
This knife was a huge disappointment considering the price point. I expected much better for the money. It was hard to open and unsafe to close. I have seen a lot of YouTube reviews and mine did not work like theirs. My washer blades work much better and smoother for a lot less money. Now the pros. I love the shape of the blade, feel of the handle and weight. Cons, the clip is horrible and hard to remove from my pocket and the handle is too slick for the removal process. The blade is sharp but I have had sharper knives from other companies. My Schrade SCH2210R flips open ten times smoother and my finger isn't sore. This knife in my opinion is a safety hazard to close as it keeps too much retention when closing and the liner lock is hard to press. And no, I don't have wimpy hands.
