CS20KR9: 20KR9 Range Boss - Flat Dark Earth

Cold Steel Knives

Whether you are riding the range in a taxi in Manhattan or riding a horse in Montana, we're sure you're going to appreciate the Cold Steel Range Boss. Designed to ride all day in your pocket or waistband, it's light and easy to carry. It doesn't take up much room and can be carried virtually unnoticed until you snap it open. The Range Boss's clip point blade is flat ground to a thin edge that is so sharp it will astonish you. It is stonewashed to resist rust and its versatility makes it a darn good skinning knife, not to mention food preparation too. The glass-reinforced nylon handle is textured with a stippled pattern for a good grip, and it features or renowned Tri-Ad lock for superlative strength.

Pros: Weight, Ease of Opening, Handle Material, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Pocket Clip
Very slim
Portable, folding paring knife. Longer blade, thinner handle than the Buck 110 Slim Select. Just what you need for slicing a submarine sandwich or cutting up a rotisserie chicken. Love the full flat grind. Medium thick blade stock. Would rather it had a drop point but this knife is partly about cowboy styling. Grippiest handle ever, blows away the one-way angular stipples on Spydies and you know how good those are. Slight scale flex under pinch pressure, but nothing like a Bugout. Easiest opening and unlocking Tri Ad to date. Impossible to snap or flick open, good for jurisdictions that don’t like that. Only negative is the pocket clip and I don’t have to tell you why. C’mon CS!
