Cold Steel

Cold Steel President Lynn C Thompson has always admired the sleek lines and dependable, highly functional blade shape of the classic Pukko. Ever since their inception in 1980, this classic Finnish hunting, and utility knife has never been far from his thoughts.

Over the years, Cold Steel has released numerous versions of the Pukko, and now, in a design collaboration with custom knifemaker Andrew Demko, Lynn is proud to introduce a folding Pukko - the Finn Wolf!

Taking the classic Pukko as inspiration, Andrew Demko brought his engineering genius to a hard-working folding knife. Thin, super lightweight, easy to carry and even easier to use, this modern EDC (Every Day Carry) knife is perhaps the perfect "everyman" knife.

Equipped with the Tri-Ad lock, adding new levels of safety and security, the Finn Wolf is utterly impervious to shock, making it reliable in the toughest, most uncompromising conditions.

Its satin polished Japanese AUS-8 blade is ready to put in long hours and hard work, and, with its keen zero ground edge, it's a breeze to re-sharpen.

With this much performance packed into this comfortable, strong, practical and inexpensive a package, there's simply no excuse not to add one to your collection today!

A quick fix for stiff lock up on the Finn Wolf models and other lockbacks is to leave the blade of the knife open at a 90-degree angle so that the blade is pushing in on the lock at the furthest point. This is to simulate wear and then leave it overnight for about four nights and test. The lock should be broken in pretty well by now (from a Cold Steel customer service department email).

Finn Wolf!
Snoozed-n-loozed on the red one but blue is almost as neat. I don't get to buy a lotta Coldsteels as more postmodern a fella (I only own a medium serrated Voyager and a no-nonsense tanto leatherneck, then gave my buddy a Luzon XL as a joke) so this thing is awesome to get especially for "pushin' free". Great to learn it was a Demko design, scandi folders usually interest me, and a tactical interpretation of a puukko is perfectly called-for, I say. Came with an unexpected rough spot in the edge but I don't lose their renown for good factory edges at least most of the time. I'm a novice at sharpening so it's an excuse to even take it to the thing. Aus-8 isn't a fond old favorite but I go for toughness more anyway, so if it's soft maybe that means tougher. Cool orange peel in the affordable plastic, could be gripper but that can even out with fingerstopper and butt pommel pinky lock. Edc-able Puukko-ish Coldsteel scandi folder from Demko with a cool model name and under 40 bucks is a good poker hand, scrumptious recipe, home run, and similar choice of metaphor.

blue finn
I recently broke a knife and needed a quick replacement. So there I was browsing the shop when I found this knife. I was skeptical about how it would preform, with it being blue and all. But right out of the box the blue screamed to me stories of the old land. Once I opened this knife I knew I was destined for Valhalla.
