CS36LPCM: 36LPCM 3V Mini Pendleton Hunter

Cold Steel

Cold Steel president, Lynn C Thompson, bought the first knife that custom maker, Lloyd Pendleton ever made in 1973. The two went on to be fast friends, and together they collaborated on some of the finest hunting knives in the industry, the Pendleton Series. In fabricating these knives, Cold Steel tried to duplicate Lloyd's work as accurately as possible. The hollow ground blade is honed to perfection.

The 36LPCM 3V Mini Pendleton Hunter was designed with one goal in mind, to pare down a functional hunting knife to the smallest size that practicality would allow.

Capable of skinning, dressing and processing even large game, this diminutive hunting knife is an indispensable tool that will make a perfect addition to any hunting or camping pack or survival kit.

With the improved, upgraded handle for a secure 4 finger grip, the Pendleton Mini Hunter also comes complete with a tough, weather resistant Secure-Ex sheath, locking it safely in place, while remaining light enough to carry 24 hours a day.

The Pendleton Mini Hunter is offered in premium American CPM 3V high carbon steel, with a hard wearing DLC (diamond like) coating for superior durability in the field.

Good for hunting skinning small game ,
A decent little hunter for small game, good price in its class. Not very sharp from the factory, easy to carry light weight. Should be able to handle its intended purposes with some sharping and strop work.

An excellent edc and introduction to 3V...
This is a well made, nimble knife that can do more chores than you might think. It is a very affordable way to learn about CPM-3V steel.I like the steel, but I don't think it's necessary in a knife this size. I have the AUS10 version too, and for me, edge retention is too similar to justify the cost.Nonetheless, this is still a very commendable and affordable option for a high quality edc blade. It is very nimble and comfortable in my large hand, and it has a crisp spine for a variety of tasks. The weak point is the sheath, but it isn't bad. There are others available from various vendors that may inspire more confidence that the knife will be retained.Otherwise, you can spend much more money for a knife this size without having much to show for it.

Excellent EDC fixed blade option
I’ve owned one of the original VG1 Japan made Pendleton mini hunters for about 18 years now. When I saw it’s now being made in 3V I got one the very first day they were available. A really welcomed surprise is the handle is about an inch longer than my VG1 model so it practically melts into my hand now, it feels perfect! (I wear a medium size glove) both my VG1 and 3V Pendleton mini’s (and most all cold steel knives) are what i call “lifetime knives” meaning when taken care of and maintained they will literally last a lifetime. My VG1 is still razor sharp to this day. All in all a great EDC fixed blade choice. THE ONLY “Negative” for me is they are NOT DLC COATED ANYMORE like the first runs of the 3V Pendleton’s Not a deal breaker for me but I was a little disappointed.
