Douk-Douk Must Mean: Cheap-Cheap
Man, is this thing cheap. They couldn’t even afford to give you a thumb nail nick to open it. That pressed in pivot pin provides about as much confidence as a weekly weather forecast. I imagine the French Legionnaires carried these in their ditty bags in case they liberated an apple orchard; and cutting an apple might be hard duty for this knife. It looks like they spent about $2.50 manufacturing the knife, the rest must be shipping costs, or something. It is inscribed, “Modele Depose” on the handle. I think it must translate to: “model dispose of after use.” >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Yeah, well, I like it just as much as Old School, and Eric J., in their reviews below. Like the blade. knife is an edc. will purchase others for ruck. excellent quality. razor sharp. definitely underated. have carried opinel12 for years and was not surprised to find the quality the same; excellent. don't let a French bias stop you. keep it simple.

Toughest Slipjoint for your money
A cousin of the more famous Douk Douk, this is a far better knife against corrosion with its chemically blackened blade and chromed handle.If you are looking for a sharp, thin slicing, carbon steel folding blade in a lightweight and next to indestructible form for easy EDC carry, this is your knife. It doesn't deploy quickly as it is definitely a two handed opener, but its stiff spring keeps it from easily closing on your hand. Put a good lanyard on the bail and you'll be surprised how often this knife winds up in your pocket at the expense of much heavier and expensive options
