Down Under Knives

The Outback™ features a forged, dual heat treated 440C stainless blade honed to a razor sharp edge. The back retains some spring to it while the edge has been made hard enough to withstand hundreds or thousands of cuts with no perceptible dulling. This is not a wall hanger - we set out to create the most devastatingly effective Bowie knife ever produced, and designed every detail like we mean it. Hack, slash, chop, cut, crush... This is one blade that will never let you down. We believe in putting our money where our mouth is, so we back this claim with a full five-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

The handle is skillfully crafted out of genuine ebony, leather and brass with an ultra-strong tang that will not twist or break in heavy use.

The solid, bead blasted brass handguard and pommel complete the distinctive look. The Outback™ is truly both a great example of the knifemaker's art as well as the most rugged, dependable tool an outdoorsman could wish for.

The Outback™ comes with a genuine heavy leather sheath patterned to resemble crocodile skin. The sheath features an integral retaining boot for the included high quality sharpening spike.

**Knives have a high mirror polish which may have slight scuffing from factory.

The Outback
Rec'd quickly. Materials and workmanship aree as advertised. Sharp enough to take the hair off my arm. Would have preferred a brushed finish but the shiny finish will work fine.

Now that's a Knife!
I don't plan on ever really using this knife for anything other than display. I'd hate to ruin the almost mirror finish of this blade. I love the heft and balance, and believe it to be a near perfect replica of the famed Crocodile Dundee Bowie Knife. The only difference I can see is in the handle material, and frankly, I prefer the handle on this replica to what I've seen in the movies. The blade is quite sharp and is more than capable of delivering upon the promise of functionality that its mere presence contains. Blade steel selection is perhaps a bit antiquated, but the unusual heat treatment should enable hard use if someone were to actually use it as an outdoorsman's tool. This knife is simply stunning to behold . . . a must own for anyone that loves knives!

Fine bit of work
This is a beautiful blade. I'm not concerned about the sharpness of the blade so much as the weight of the knife make a razor edge completely unnecessary. All I have used to sharpen is the accompanying course steel. As has been stated in previous reviews, handle is a bit thin but not awkwardly so. Great fit and finish.I don't understand what all the grief over the sheath is. It is heavy, functional, and gorgeous.
