Description
EX170KH: KH Kukri
Extrema Ratio

A classic and for good reason. The "kukri", a Nepalese tool made famous by the Gurkha regiment on Her Majesty's Service is also derived from the ancient Greek swords, it is simply a machete with a forward cut. The forward cutting blade allows it to work like an axe while maintaining the versatility of the long blade. This series was developed based on a fusion of modern and antique concepts. The grindings are differentiated: near the handle the blade is razor sharp, this grinding allows it to achieve a fine sharp angle without intruding excessively on the thickness of the dorsal material which has to remain solid. The grinding on the tip of the blade is flat and well angled to easily penetrate wood and vegetation. The use of hard steel is another characteristic peculiar to this knife. This type of tool is generally made of a softer steel in order to make them more elastic and easier to sharpen. The Extrema Ratio KH tool is sufficiently elastic for sharpness that not only lasts longer but is more resistant.

Super Tough Tactical Kukri
Bought this Kukri from KnifeCentre.com last week. Got it today. Pretty fast international delivery, considering the current Covid-19 situation. Well Done KnifeCentre.com.As for the Extrema Ratio KH Kukri, it is a super tough BEAST. Despite being slightly smaller than my other machetes and kukri, it definitely out performs many of them. Chopping capability is better than blades longer and larger than it is. I believe the flat grind profile at the front of the blade definitely helps. Came super shaving sharp (actually tried shaving my leg with it and it takes hair off easily) out of the box.Have a very nice balanced weight and the various possible holding position on the handle makes it a well-balanced, all-rounded blade that can be used for all kinds of tasks, from chopping to fine crafts. Will also make a very fast and formidable weapon if ever needed.Beside hoping that (1) the blade can be a couple of inches longer and (2) it can be a bit cheaper, totally no complain. Definitely one of the most capable blades that I own. Highly recommended.
