I USE ALL KNIVES ON A HARD SURFACE, GIVES ME EXCUSE TO TUNE THEM UP ! THIS TOOL IS REAL NICE ; REPAIRS POOR CONDITION BLADES FAST .I DID BUY TWO ,SEPARATE PURCHASE . FIRST ONE WAS A GIFT , SECOND ONE WAS MINE .
