Description

KS1660GBLU: 1660GBLU MagnaCut Leek, Blue Gradient

Kershaw Knives

Looking for a Leek that won't get lost in the grass? Take a look at this blue gradient Leek.

The brilliant blue of the anodized aluminum handle is a fade-resistant, scratch-resistant dye that's permanently bonded to the aluminum—so it looks good now, and will continue to look good later. The business end of the knife is a task-ready 3-inch blade of CPM-MagnaCut stainless steel - that's right folks, CPM-MagnaCut on a Leek. This high-performance steel enables Kershaw to make the Leek's blade razor sharp out of the box and helps it hold that edge, too. The modified drop-point/Wharncliffe blade shape makes it a good slicing knife, while the slim tip gives it excellent piercing and detail work capabilities.

Whether you're left-handed or right-handed, it's easy to open your blue gradient Leek with SpeedSafe assisted opening. A simple pull back on the ambidextrous flipper blade protrusion or push outward on the thumb stud and the Leek's blade is ready to go to work. For safety, a locking liner keeps the blade locked open during use and a Tip-Lock slider locks it closed when folded. The pocket clip is reversible for tip-up or tip-down carry and the handle is drilled to accept a lanyard.

The blue gradient Leek is a slim, easy-to-carry design that gives you plenty of cutting versatility—and good looks.

Features

  • Flipper - May be used on either manual or assisted opening knives. The "flipper" is a protrusion on the back of the blade that the user can pull back on, or flip, in order to move the blade easily out of the handle.
  • SpeedSafe® - Assists you to open any SpeedSafe® knife quickly and easily with a manual push on the thumbstud or pull back on the flipper; built into many Kershaw best sellers.
  • Liner Lock - Locks the blade open during use; one side of the knife's steel “liner,” the steel plate to which the handle scales are attached, moves into position behind the blade to securely lock it open.
  • Reversible - Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.
  • Made In The USA - When you see this on one of the knives, it means it was made in their Tualatin, Oregon manufacturing facility by skilled Kershaw knifemakers.

I really like the knife… I have used it to clean deer and all other needs at work and home. The knife is also a great slicer for food prep!

Good for it's price
Hard to beat it's price for magnacut steel. Detent is incredibly strong on this. Reverse flick is actually not easy on this one. Thumb flick and flipper are much much smoother. The blade is pretty thin, so this is a slicer, very pointy tip, definitely wouldn't try prying anything with this knife(you really shouldn't anyways). My only grip is i don't understand the locking system on the end of the knife. Totally unnecessary, I just keep it unlocked Reason for a score reduction. If it locks and you close the blade on the lock, my fear is getting chips on the spot where blade means that locking bar. There's some effort into closing the blade as well. I believe that has to do with the strong detent. But all in all, it's a decent knife, not costing an atm and a leg for what you get.
