KS1830: 1830 Oso Sweet
Kershaw Knives

This is indeed one sweet little pocket knife. The Oso Sweet features a classic drop point blade that gives you maximum workaday utility. First, the Oso Sweet opens one-handed with SpeedSafe assisted opening. Just pull back on the ambidextrous flipper and the blade moves out of the handle ready for use. Whether you're left-handed or right-handed, your blade is easy to access and ready to go when you are. Kershaw heat-treats the 8Cr13MoV blade steel to bring out its high-performance characteristics like good edge retention, strength, hardness and wear resistance.

The handle is glass-filled nylon for excellent durability and incorporates a textured 'scales' pattern that gives the Oso Sweet a unique look. A locking liner secures the blade during use and closes easily for pocket carry or storage. The pocket clip can be reversed for tip-up or tip-down carry. Once you get your hands on one and start using it, we think it will be pretty popular with you, too.

I love this knife!
Before this knife, my favorite knife was the Leek. This knife is the same perfect size but with the following things I like better:About half the price. It feels better in my hand with grippy scales on both sides.I like its clip better. The blade is wider and sturdier with a better profile.I also prefer the liner lock to the frame lock.

You want it sharp?
I was frustrated with this knife for a while. I couldn’t get it sharp. Then I started getting familiar with secondary bevels on hollow ground blades. I got rid of the hollow grind in favor of a partial flat grind on a Buck, a Case, an Ontario, and now my Oso Sweet, just using sandpaper. They are all now very sharp, and easy to sharpen. Not a fan of Hollow grind
