Description
CRM1610KZ: M16-10KZ Tanto - Designed by Kit Carson
CRKT
Here is Kit Carson's M16 Every Day Carry (EDC) with our glass filled nylon InterFrame build. Our knife users told us, "We want an affordable work knife that we can give hard use without feeling guilty, and one that won't break us up if we leave it on a job site or drop it in the river."
We heard you. So we set about to make the Z EDC the best value in the work and sport knife world.
That starts with textured glass filled nylon scales and a dual 2CR13 stainless steel liner InterFrame. Assembled with glass filled nylon back spacers and Torx fasteners, the result is amazingly rigid. Glass filled nylon offers excellent toughness and resistance to solvents. Lubrous washers at the blade pivot and an adjustable pivot screw allow for perfect blade action.
The blade is 8CR15MoV high-carbon stainless steel which gives an ideal combination of toughness and edge-holding ability in a work knife, and also allows easy field-sharpening.
The M16-10KZ features a dual hollow grind Tanto-style blade with Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated edges similar to our "Big Dog" M16 models. The result is maximum blade strength and ability to saw through cord, webbing, nets or vegetation quickly. It has a black EDP blade, black frame and hardware for a non-flective tactical look.
Of course, it features the Carson Flipper, which speeds opening of the blade and acts as a blade guard when the blade is open.
The real breakthrough was our ability to engineer our patented* AutoLAWKS knife safety into all models, which automatically actuates when the blades are open, making these folders into virtual fixed blades when locked.
Add to these features the standard removable stainless steel clothing/gear clip plus the CRKT limited lifetime warranty, and you have one of the truly great knife values of our time.

Very High Value
I've owned this knife for over a decade; it is extremely tough, easy to sharpen, and very dependable. I carried it every day when I worked in a restaurant kitchen and still use it often in the warehouse. Opening boxes, cutting through packing and duct tape, twine and lengths of thin rope, prying out staples in two by fours, thick zip ties-- this knife can do it all. The serrations are especially useful with cutting cord or rope and they stay sharp for a long time. I think I bought it for $35 or $40 in 2014 and the value of CRKT knives, especially their work/hard use knives is unmatched. It is an added plus to have the secondary safety backing up the liner-lock. The only issue I've ever had with it is the aggressive jimping on the flipper. I've cut my finger and hand on it a few times over the years because of the tip down only carry clip. This knife can take a beating and keep going. Very highly recommended.

Good knife
First of all, sorry for the misstakes! I am Dutch speaking. Overall it's a good quality knive. CRKT makes good products. I gave it a three because two issue's. The blade wasn't razorsharp , i had to sharpen it myself. Not een big deal. The second thing is by my opinion a design flaw . The chipping on the flipper is so agressive , that it cut's open your finger. I had to grind it down with sandpaper. After that it's a great knife.

Pretty good little knife.
For the price, this was a pretty good knife. I like the extra safety feature on the liner lock, and the blade sharpened up very nice. I got it as a back up for my regular EDC and it's worked great. My only gripe is that the blade is a little wobbly. But, overall, this was a good knife, as are most of the ones I own from CRKT.
