KUV2706A2: Vanguard V2706A2 Johan Jordaan Parakeet - Clear Acrylic

Kizer Cutlery

The Parakeet, designed by Johan Jordaan, is a compact yet highly capable folding knife built for precision, portability, and everyday reliability. Its sleek design blends functionality with modern aesthetics, making it a refined tool for those who demand both performance and style.

Crafted from German Nitro-V steel, the Parakeet’s blade offers exceptional edge retention and corrosion resistance, staying sharp 30% longer than standard steels. Whether cutting rope, opening packages, or handling food prep, this knife is a steadfast companion for daily tasks.

The lightweight knife handle provides a sturdy, comfortable grip, with milled anti-slip grooves on both the handle and spine for enhanced control, even in wet conditions. A secure button liner lock ensures rock-solid blade retention, while the thumb studs enables smooth, one-handed deployment. Finished with a reversible pocket clip for versatile carry, the Parakeet is an ultra-portable EDC folding pocketknife that delivers smart design in a compact package.

Vanguard Series

The Vanguard Series brings excellent value to high-quality designs. Since the start of Kizer Cutlery, they have focused on the high end of the knife market with their impeccable quality and premium materials. This has earned them a place in the hearts of their fans. To increase the accessibility of Kizer brand products, they took the designs of the Bladesmith and Prime Series, and while keeping the quality at the same high level, re-forged them using materials that bring extra value for the money spent. Kizer uses only materials that have stellar performance, such as VG10 for the blades and G10 or stainless steel for the handles. This way, Kizer products are available at all budget levels but still maintain that incredible quality of construction.

Tools share a common goal and purpose. Kizer brings you the Vanguard Series created with the purpose of distilling the essence of the Bladesmith and Prime Series into tools that excel in being used. This may not be your only knife, but this will be the knife you carry and use every day!

Something to fill your watch pocket
Neat little knife. My only reason for not giving it a 5 star rating is it's size. It is just too small for me to easily open with one hand. If you can flick it open, it opens smartly and smoothly, with a snappy lockup. Assembly and material quality is top shelf; the bearings are smooth, there is no wiggle of any kind, the blade is perfectly centered, sharp as can be out of the box, and of a very useful shape. However, it does not always lock fully; it can appear locked open but needs a little persuasion to fully engage. Did I mention that is was small?? OK for slicing a Slim Jim into little pieces, but NOT a salami.I purchased the version with clear handles so as to be able to see the mechanism in action. This is the first button de-activated frame lock that I have ever seen, and it makes sense given the size of the knife. I believe releasing a traditional frame lock would be difficult on a knife this size.. It will probably stay in the collection, but won't replace my under $40 Bugout Mini clone in my jeans pocket.
