Bad luck with this knife in the past
Conceptually, I am a big fan of this knife. I have had one either in the red and black or stonewash black over the past few years. But the red and black one has never been good quality. The problem lies in how it folds together and how the screw tolerances need to be just right to work properly. If the manufacturing is off, it cannot fold together all the way and doesn't lock. If the screws aren't the right tightness, it will either not move properly or not lock as well. This includes the pocket clip area because this is where the lock is. The latch is spring loaded, so if that's too tight, it won't spring all the way and catch the other handle on deployment. When it's too loose, it doesn't line up with the rod it needs to catch. The spring for the latch is not easy to fix for someone like me since if it pops out, it's pretty hard to realign. If it has been fixed then great, but at this point I'll probably just try a knockoff one for much cheaper than buying this again for 80 bucks.

My new EDC
Absolutely am in love with this knife! I carry a karambit with me everywhere, needed at work, and not living in the best of neighborhoods. Have been into martial arts since childhood and a karambit is an impressive self-defense knife. Also collector of balisong.Although you can't do much "flipping" with this, it's a fast opening, highly versatile blade. Takes a little practice, but once I got my rhythm I can have it in my hand and open in a flash.Well worth the low price.
