This Briar Axe is inspired by traditional cutting and splitting tools from Scandinavia. The blade is accurately tempered with oil and later placed under further tempering treatment, hardening at a density between 47 and 55 HRC. The taping of the blade, made by hand with grained flap wheels, favors the movement of the blade through wood, reducing the amount of surface friction and increasing the efficacy of the cut. The sharpening, also completed by hand, guarantees a better performance of cutting of any type of wood, even more knotty woods. The German Style Briar Axe measures in at 23.75" overall with a 4.25" cutting edge and a 7.25" carbon steel axe head. The handle is made from Hickory wood with a sublimation-printed root wood design.
