Ryan Johnson has been making custom, forged awls for a couple of decades, so RMJ decided a Swiss turned production awl would be a great fit in their lineup. Meet the Knob! Naming products is one of the hardest things they do. All products in development get some sort of nickname, and this one was affectionately referred to as the Knob, so it stuck.
What is it for? To make a hole in or through something. Beyond holes, awls are great for opening your pile of Amazon boxes and sparing the edge on your knife; they make a good scribe as well. From an EDC standpoint, it's another great get-off-of-me tool where you may not be able to carry a knife.
These are turned from 440C stainless steel and topped with a Black G10 oval knob. At seven inches long and a weight of 2.6 ounces, the Knob can be carried and concealed with ease. Each one includes a Kydex sheath equipped with an UltiClip for a wide range of carry options.
