Rockstead produced the original NEHAN from 2007 to 2010 and decided that 2017 was the right time to do an updated version of this model. It was designed by Koji Hara, a very famous custom knifemaker known the world over, and it's a very true, classic representation of the original piece. However, all the materials are totally different making this NEHAN a more high-end, hard use tool than the original.

The NEHAN is a perfect example of Japanese styling, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. This is one of the highest quality folding knives available in the world with Rockstead's expertise cultivated through years of experience. The blade is ZDP-189 steel with their traditional mirror polished finish and locks up with a button lock mechanism. There are two different handle material options with the NEHAN; both are durable and feature the exact same milling pattern. The MB is "Artificial Marble", used in high-end kitchen countertops while the ER is "Ebonite", used in high-end fountain pens. These materials are fixed to titanium liners to give the knife strength and durability throughout. The simultaneous precision finishing of the handle manufacturing process allows Rockstead to construct the knife without visible screws which keeps the clean look of this design, meant to look like the fold of a Japanese Kimono. Feels extremely comfortable and solid in the hand. Individually numbered.

With proper maintenance, Rocksteads are known to keep a sharp edge for 2-3 years. Rockstead Knives come with free sharpening and regrinding. You would be responsible for shipping charges to and from Japan.
