The Spider Monkey is the compact version of Southern Grind's flagship model, the Bad Monkey, and what an excellent little EDC blade this is. It gets a lot of design aspects correct like balance, grip, fit, finish, and definitely the materials. This Spider Monkey features a flat ground partially serrated satin 3.25" blade made from CPM-S35VN stainless steel. S35VN is one of the premier steels in the industry with excellent corrosion-resistant properties and more than adequate edge-holding capabilities. The handles are made from carbon fiber over full-length 6Al-4V titanium liners. The pocket clip might be small but it is sturdy and provides strong retention while being easy to get in and out of the pocket. Another great design from Southern Grind, we look forward to seeing more variations of it in the future.

Nice ed knife
I bought this as a new edc and was very pleased with it right out of the box. It fit my hand well and a very nice feel to the handle. The knife was definitely sharp and still is, although I haven't really put it through it's paces. The only problem I had was with the pocket clip which was way to tight. Once clipped into a pocket the knife didn't want to come out without a very forceful pull. Having a knife secure in your pocket is one not being able deploy it is another. I remedy the situation myself by changing the clip now its still secure but deploys much quicker.
