Spartan Blades

The TALOS Folder is a lightweight liner lock designed by friend and collaborator William W Harsey Jr. Its slim lightweight design makes it the perfect companion for everyday carry and tasks. While small, its thoughtful design, premium CTS-XHP blade, and deep carry pocket clip will handle most day-to-day tasks with ease. Whether you are standing knee-deep in a trout-laden creek or on your way to work, this small companion knife fits the bill. 

All Spartan Blades Bronze (Field) Grade folders incorporate their "Oil-Infused Bronze Bushing System" or "OIBBS"! These sintered bronze bushings are impregnated with oil which reduces the friction on the blade, thus giving you a tight but smooth blade opening. This system is especially useful for slow speeds, intermittent use, and uneven loads such as are found on folding knives.

An EDC 2 years in my rotation
Your sharpening skill and method will be tested with this one,touch ups with diamond on hard leather and if edge is lost,ceramic can coax it back.Carbides are large and plentiful and held tighter than D2,but still prone to chipping if is subjected to extreme impacts,Edge not as keen as hollow ground S30v,but still has endurance it won't give up easily.Very light,does not block pocket,pivot is good with no play but will need adjustments with repeated use.Highly recommend,it's a hard worker that won't let you down.

Disappointing from a brand of this caliber
Easily one of the worst “no nonsense / not a fidget flipper knife blah blah blah” blades that I have ever purchased. The action is insanely stiff out of the box, with significant blade play (up, down, left, and right). The lockup is solid as can be despite the blade wiggle and rough action. After two months of trying to break it in, action was still awful, and eventually got to the point where one hand opening was not an option. Disassembled and cleaned the entire thing, reassembled, and still just as rough. Looked up reviews wondering if I had received a dud, and apparently this isn’t just common, but an accepted part of this knife. I know it’s an old model, I know it’s of Spartans lowest grade line, but the fact that this knife is priced anywhere over $30 is an insult and a blemish on the reputation of this company. I’m sure their higher end models and of course the harsey, are great. But the fact that you would be willing to put something like this out with your brand on it is a bad look. Dong but this thing. If you want a no nonsense actual hard use small folder, there are a hundred better options than this.
