Spyderco's Sage Series is a remarkable family of cutting tools created to showcase various folding knife lock mechanisms and the influential designers who invented or popularized them. The sixth member of this series highlights the Button-Release Compression Lock mechanism pioneered by custom knifemaker Kevin Smock. A novel variation of Spyderco's high-strength Compression Lock design, it adds a convenient button release to the obverse-side scale. This feature makes releasing the lock much easier and transforms the Sage 6 into one of Spyderco's most "fidget-friendly" folders. Its satin-finished blade is full-flat ground from CPM-S30V stainless steel and paired with an easy-to-clean, open-backed handle featuring nested, skeletonized stainless steel liners and peel-ply-textured carbon fiber/G10 laminate scales. To keep the knife poised for quick access, it also includes a deep-pocket wire clip that is reversible for left or right-side tip-up carry.

That Lock
Daily carry and common use is what this knife is built for.If Spyderco misses out on converting there compression locks to this Button Actuated Compression lock well let's just say someone needs to replace Eric.Yeah it's that good, no chance of tripping it by mistake, the closed position is more secure due to the extra tension and the button is in just the right place.Super slicey sharp out of the box, in the past Spyderco put out some pretty crappy S30V now well after a long time they have got it just right in more recent models like this.I also own the S90V model of this, in full Carbon Fiber and prefer the Peel and Ply G10 CF version (this one)

This is a great form hand fitting knife. It is a perfect size and weight for an edc knife. It is a good knife to use around knife shy people because it is not threatening wih its 3" blade. I really like the build quality on Spyderco knives. I like the Sage 6 so much I gave one as a gift to another knife affecianado for Christmas.
